Pheasant & Big Game Hunting Season Opens at The Wilderness

“We are locked and loaded for another fantastic fall hunting season!” says Wilderness Reserve Operations Manager, Nils Swanson. Hunting season at The Wilderness Reserve kicked off this week, on September 1st and will run through Christmas. The Wilderness offers Whitetail Deer and Rocky Mountain Elk hunt packages, as well as pheasant hunting. Bird hunters are welcome to bring their own dogs, or take advantage of The Wilderness’ dog/handler packages.

With a rolling terrain of forests, fields and marshes, the Reserve provides a challenging environment for hunters of all skill levels. And The Wilderness Team has been hard at work throughout the last year, getting ready for the season. “The lodge is open to our hunters, an excellent hub for guides and hunters to strategize over a great meal and beautiful vista. We’ve made improvements on our hunting blinds and food plots, and are pleased to offer even more comfort and a high level of privacy to our hunters”, Nils says.

Cabins with a View at The Wilderness Reserve

Each cabin sits on a private lake with breathtaking views all around, and comes complete with a fishing. Staying in one of the cabins can have you feeling like the rest of the world has disappeared, giving you the opportunity to sit back, breathe easy and truly appreciate the wonders of nature.

And The Wilderness Team really thinks of everything for their guests! Each cabins is outfitted with all the dishes and cookware you will need for your stay, life jackets for your boat ride, and firewood for the fireplace or a campfire. Even coffee is supplied, and we recommend enjoying your morning cup along with a great view from the screened porch of your cabin.
