Winter Carnival Planned at Phelps School

phelps school2There will be a Phelps School/Community/Family “Winter Carnival” event sponsored by the Phelps School Community Committee at the Phelps School on Saturday, February 6th. The event will begin in the school commons from 5-6:30 pm for a hot dog meal at no charge and sampling of the chili/soup cook-off and pie/dessert bake-off.  Inflatables and games will be available for the children in the large gym from 4-7 pm. Music by Bret and Frisk will be offered from 5-6:30 pm while dining.  All events are open to the public and there is no charge for admission. The event is funded by the Rural Education Achievement Program. For information please call the school at (715)545-2724.

Cook-off and bake-off participants wanted

A chili, homemade soup cook-off and pie/dessert bake-off will be held as part of this years “Winter Carnival” at the Phelps School Saturday, February 6th. Contest rules can be picked up at the school office. Judging will be on taste, texture and aroma.  Prizes will be awarded. Participants can register at the school the day of the contest. Homemade soup and chili should be taken to the school commons in a slow cooker marked with the owner’s name, pies/desserts should have the same information on the plate.  Food entries should arrive between 2 and 3 p.m. on February 6th. Judging will be at 4:00.  After judging, soups, chili, pies, and desserts will be offered to the public.
