Preparations are under way for the annual Phelps Independence Day Celebration that will be held from 3:00 p.m. to  11:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 4th, 2018. The festivities will kick off with a parade through downtown, led by the grand marshal. Following the parade, a town celebration will be held on the lakefront of North Twin Lake. Festivities will include live music, kids games and inflatables, a pie eating contest, food and drink, and more. The grand finale for the event will be the amazing fireworks lit off over North Twin Lake at dusk.

The Phelps Chamber of Commerce is currently seeking nominations for this year’s Parade Marshal. The Parade Marshal should be someone who has contributed to the local community substantially over the years, or someone who you believe deserves special recognition for community service, military service, or other achievements.

If you would like to nominate someone, please use the attached form here – 2018 Parade Marshal Form – and include the reasons why you believe this person should lead the 2018 parade. Nominations can be sent to the Chamber Office via email at Chamber-Office@PhelpsWI.us, called in to 715-545-3800 or mailed to P.O. Box 217, Phelps Wisconsin, 54554.

The Chamber is also accepting suggestions for the 2018 parade theme. The theme for 2017 was Lake Livin’. Any local business, organization, or individual is welcome to create a float for the parade. Those that are interested should contact the Chamber office or fill out this form – 2018 Parade Application – and return to the Chamber by the 1st o f July.
