Become a Maple Syrup Fest Sponsor or Volunteer!
Planning for the 5th Annual Maple Syrup Fest in Phelps is well underway and the committee couldn’t be more excited. The event has grown from a simple bus tour of local sugar bushes in 2012 to
a full day of activities and fun that attracts over 2000 people. In addition to the continuation of the sugar bush tours, the day now includes tree tapping demonstrations, a syrup judging contest, a thriving arts and crafts fair, children’s activities, the Maple Cafe, and much, much more. And the committee is proud to now be able to provide scholarships for local youth from a portion of the day’s proceeds.
The committee invites local businesses to consider becoming a sponsor for this growing event or volunteering a few hours on April 2nd. Sponsors receive recognition online, during the event, and through local media.
If you are interested in giving a few hours of your time, there are plenty of opportunities! Volunteers are needed for syrup and apparel sales, raffle ticket sales, set up, clean up, and to share information with event attendees. Help is also needed for parking and children’s activities throughout the day.
Volunteers are asked to commit to a two to three hour shift, for which they will receive a free meal, event shirt, and a discount on Chamber membership dues in appreciation. Even more importantly, sponsors and volunteers have the chance to be a part of an event that celebrates Wisconsin heritage and attracts visitors to our area.
