PHELPS 4th of JULY PARADE THEME ANNOUNCED
The Phelps Chamber is pleased to announce the theme for the 2019 4th of July Grand Parade that will take place at 3 pm on Thursday, July 4th.
This year’s theme will Knights & Proud, celebrating the school’s Phelps Knights teams that work so hard throughout the year and the community that continuously comes together through good times and bad. This togetherness can be witnessed at any fundraiser, special event, or sports game throughout the year and by how successful local organizations are with raising funds or awareness for their many important causes.
Individuals or organizations interested in entering a float in the parade can find the application on the Phelps Chamber website at www.Phelpswi.us or can do so by contacting the Chamber at 715-545-3800. There is no fee to enter a float, and designs with the current year’s theme in mind are encouraged.
The Chamber is also soliciting submissions for this year’s Grand Marshal that will lead the parade through the downtown. This would be an individual or group that has shown above-and-beyond support for the community or impacted the area in some significant way. The 2018 Marshal was Dr. James Zelinski, as we celebrated his retirement after serving the community for more than 40 years.
Nominations should be submitted by June 1st, after which voting will open online to the public. For more information, call the Phelps Chamber. Save the date to join Phelps in celebrating Independence Day in grand small-town style on Thursday, July 4th. In addition to the grand parade, the day will include live music, pie eating contests, a Chicken Drop raffle, food and beer tents, kids games, inflatables, and a huge fireworks display over North Twin Lake at dusk, featuring the largest legal firework sold in Wisconsin.
