Twin Tri a Challenging Day of Fun!

The 4th Annual Twin Tri was held last Saturday, August 25th downtown Phelps, Wisconsin. 36 people participated in the challenging event, which includes an 8K paddle on North Twin Lake, a 16K bike and a 5K run on the beautiful Vista Lake Biking Area. We were excited to see every participant again finish the race, whether as individuals or as teams. Ages ranged from 7 years old to 77 years young on the teams, with a 12 and a 70 year old able to finish the race solo.

The weather was just about perfect for the event, with cloud coverage keeping the temperatures reasonable. Although rain was threatened, we stayed dry all morning. The racers and the audience all had a great time. Tom & Mary Kay, first time participants, said “Thank you for this tremendously fun event! Special thanks to all the volunteers who watched over us out there, especially in the rocky waves! See you next year!” Veteran participant Jack shared “Being a native of Eagle River, I enjoy all of the local events in our beautiful Northwoods. This is my 4th year competing in this event. It was awesome that we could form a 3 generation team this year.” Jack Godding (77 y/o), was joined this year by long term team mate Paul Weber (47 y/o), and first time participant Tess Weber (7 y/o).
