Vilas County ATV Trails and Routes Open

20 May

Explore Vilas County on ATV’s!

The eastern Vilas County ATV/UTV trails and routes officially opened for the season today. And we couldn’t have asked for a nicer day for it! With the sun shining and the birds a’chirpin’, it is a great day to be outside and enjoying that fresh air.

This is happily received news by ATV lovers in the area. These routes connect Lincoln, Eagle River, Conover, and Phelps, as well as Forest County. For a map of the trails and routes, see this ATV Trails Map. Be sure to follow all local laws and regulations and be safe! For more information on the development of local trails, contact the Landover ATV Club.

When did County Road E get approved for ATV route. Thought since homes were to close this couldn’t happen and didn’t read anything about this. Now I seen signs and then notice it on your route maps.
Would like a answer and would like to know why we weren’t notified.

    Thanks

Bill, I’m thinking that because that is a County road as opposed to a town one that the decision was made at the County level. I was forwarded the map from Vilas County Parks & Recreation Administrator Dale Mayo, so that might be a good contact to find answers to your questions. His email address is listed as damayo@co.vilas.wi.us. Hope that helps and please let us know if we can help out in any other way! ~ Celeste

      Dan,
You cannot ride dirt bikes at this time. If you are interested in more information, you might enjoy following along with the Landover ATV Club at http://www.landoveratv.com/ and on Facebook. That way you can stay up-to-date with the rules and routes as they develop.
