NORTHWOODS BLIZZARD BLAST SNOWMAN BUILDING CONTEST
Creative snowman builders wanted! The Northwoods Blizzard Blast is holding a Snowman Building Contest as part of the festivities for the upcoming event.
Families, businesses, organizations and school classes are encouraged to participate. Join in the Winter FUN and win COLD CA$H!! Head outside and show off your talents. Build a creative snowman in your own yard or at your business, school or organization. Snap a photo and enter it in the contest via the Northwoods Blizzard Blast Facebook page.
Two categories are eligible for the contest. The “Residential’ category includes families & homes. The “Commercial” category includes businesses, organizations and schools classes. Grand prizes of $100 will be awarded to the First Place winner in each category. Second Place winners in each category will receive $50.
The contest is open to residents, businesses, schools and organizations within 50 miles of Conover, Land O’Lakes & Phelps. Participants are encouraged to add their own creative touches that will make their snowman unique. Creators have the option of being in the picture.
Photo entries are to be submitted through Facebook via the Northwoods Blizzard Blast page. The deadline for entering your submission is February 9th, 2016.
Grand Prize winners will be announced at The Northwoods Blizzard Blast. The event will be held on Saturday, February 13th at the Conover Community Park. Event highlights include snowshoe baseball, recliner races, ice bowling, snow sculpting and an artisan bazaar. Horse drawn scenic rides and a cross country fun ski area also planned. Children will enjoy face painting, sledding, skating, a dogsled dash as well as demonstrations in youth archery and snowboarding.
