Visit Phelps This Weekend for Scarecrow Fest!

Fall Festival in Vilas CountyThere’s no limit on fun that you can enjoy at Phelps annual Scarecrow Fest this weekend! With something for all ages, pack up the family and make a day of it!

Enjoy great food from local restaurants, with 12 unique food vendors. The Women’s Club will be selling taffy apples, pumpkin bars, and monster cookies and giving away free chili. Sample the homemade wines and vote for your favorite. Visit the beer stand to quench your thirst.

Once you’ve had your share of tasty treats, take an old fashion hayride overlooking North Twin Lake. Sea plane rides are planned for the day, and of course, Pumpkin Chuckin’! Try your luck slinging a pumpkin at the target on the water – after all, where else would you get to man a giant sling shot?

Walk through the Scarecrows, or bring your own to enter for a cash prize.  Watch chainsaw carver, Chad Danczyk, demonstrate his talent. Browse over 40 vendors at the Craft Show, and be sure to check out the Quilt Show and Headwaters Art League display. The kids will enjoy free games, face painting and the Balloon Man.

This year’s highlight will be the extreme Chris Clark Bicycle Stunt Show. The show is a breathtaking display of balance and agility as Chris maneuvers his bike and body over his custom built ramps and obstacles, displaying the skills he has developed in his years of National and International cycling competition experience. Chris even gets the audience involved by including volunteers from the crowd as part of the show. An autograph session and give-away of free merchandise will follow the show. Attendees will also have the chance to enter to win Chris’ personal ride, valued at over $3000!
