It’s time for the 2017 Snowman Building Contest!!
Competitors may build a snowman, snow girl, snow family and/or a snow pet to showcase their creative talents. The contest is open to residents, businesses, schools and organizations within 30 miles of Conover, Land O’Lakes & Phelps. Participants are encouraged to add their own creative touches that will make their snowman unique. Creators have the option of being in the picture.

Contest entries are eligible for either of two categories
- Residential – Individuals & Families
- Business/Organization/School Class – Commercial businesses owners, community organizations, clubs and schools
Grand prizes of $100 will be awarded to the First Place winner in each category. Second Place winners in each category will receive $50.
Contest submissions may be made by taking a photo of your creation. Then just go to the “Northwoods Blizzard Blast” page on Facebook to upload your photo and complete your entry. On desktop format, look for the “Snowman Building Contest” tab on the left or the APP on the right. On mobile format, access the entry page via the first post on our page. The deadline for entering your submission is February 16th.
Will You Take Home the Cash at Northwoods Blizzard Blast?
Winners will be announced at the Northwoods Blizzard Blast. The event will be held on Saturday, February 18th at the Conover Community Park. Event highlights include snowshoe baseball, recliner races, ice bowling, snow sculpting and an artisan bazaar. Horse drawn scenic rides will be enjoyed by all ages while horse and pony rides are available for youth. Children will also enjoy face painting, sledding, skating and the Dogsled Dash as well as demonstrations in youth archery, snowboarding & more.
