One of the facts of life that make living in Phelps so awesome is that not only do we get to enjoy all that Phelps has to offer, but we have two wonderful neighboring communities that add so much to the area’s value! If you are planning a visit to the area, or vacation here every year, chances are that you will also be taking advantage of these connected communities on your trip.
Phelps on the Lake
If you are reading this, then you probably know how special Phelps is. Located right on North Twin Lake, we are never without a spectacular lake view and stunning sunsets. Being a small town in the Northwoods means that the night sky is that much brighter and the air that much cleaner. No matter the season, it’s all about nature here in Phelps and there are so many ways to enjoy it.
If you are looking for that something extra special, be sure to plan your visit around one of the many super fun local events. Check the Phelps event calendar to find specifics. You aren’t going to want to miss this year’s Maple Syrup Fest (April 2nd) or the 4th of July celebration, but there are also picnics in the park, ice fishing tournaments, softball games, snowmobile races, garden walks, and more. Arts & More in Land O’Lakes
If you can’t find an event happening in Phelps on any given weekend, Land O’Lakes may just deliver. Craft fairs, summer markets, and Summer Days of Art are a great addition to the local shopping opportunities that are available year-round. And if you haven’t yet attended the Three Bear Sled Dog Races, you have been missing out! This is great fun for the whole family, where you can enjoy the professional sled dog races, winter games, a craft fair, ice skating, and more.
Beyond special events, Land O’Lakes is THE must-visit arts community. Stop in LOLA’s Center for the Arts to sign up for upcoming classes and workshops and be sure to browse the works of local artists in the Artistree Gallery.
