Northern Wisconsin Snowmobiling: Miles of Snowmobile Trails in Phelps!
With 40 miles of groomed snowmobile trails in Phelps that connect to many other trails in the area, you will have lots of opportunities to explore the winter wonderland of the northwoods. There are plenty of places to make stops along the way, including a number of Northern Wisconsin snowmobile resorts.
Northwoods Snowmobile Trails Are Groomed and Well-Marked
Get ready to ride for miles on the northwoods snowmobile trails that weave through the Chequamegon-Nicolet Forests. Corridor Trail #6 passes within a block of town.
Phelps snowmobile trails lead to the Vilas County Trail System, which consists of 600 miles of groomed and marked trails, as well as snowmobile trails in nearby Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Large groomers and a dedicated corps of volunteers ensure these northwoods snowmobile trails are well-groomed and well-marked.
And these snowmobile trails cross many area lakes (Smokey Lake, Big Sand Lake, North & South Twin Lakes, Kentuck Lake, Long Lake, Lac Vieux Desert) which provides easy access for northwoods ice fishing!
Northern Wisconsin Snowmobile Trails: Phelps Gets Lake-Effect Snow
Phelps gets much more snow, due to our location near Lake Superior, and the snow stays later in the Phelps area than almost anywhere in Wisconsin. Phelps is also your Wisconsin Gateway to hundreds of miles of Upper Michigan trails. Check out the Phelps, Wisconsin, Snowmobile Trail Report from SnowTracks, an online trail and travel guide for snowmobiling in the US and Canada.
